Vacation at Rainbow Lake

Aubrey and Jackson are feeding the ducks. There were several mamas and babies around. We also saw a doe along the far side of the lake - we took a rowboat out and got pretty close to her. Luke was more of a fisherman than the other two. No bites though.

First of all, let me introduce you to the newest member of the Berning family, Barney. When we first told the kids we were moving, they all three burst into tears. Of course being the loving parents we are, we immediately began thinking of bribes. Thus, Barney came to our house! He is called Barney because the Syracuse High School mascot is Barney the Bulldog. Obviously he's not a bulldog (did you know actual bulldogs cost as much as $1500?) We settled for a miniature dachsund. We love him!

Barney loves playing ball, or alternatively shredding the covers of the tennis balls.
