Christmas in the Kitchen

I got a new video recorder for Christmas... a cute little handheld Flip that I think I will really enjoy. Here's a sample of the 28 videos we took over the last few days; this is just right before dinner on Christmas Day. We loved having everyone here!

Snow Angel

These pictures were taken last Wednesday, as Jack got home from school. You can tell by the first one that I am INSIDE the house because it was approximately 2 degrees. There is no way I was stepping out on that front porch to snap pictures!

Don't you remember how it felt to be the first person to make tracks in the snow?

He made a heart for me.
And a snow angel.
But he had to wipe away the marks made by his backpack, which he didn't remove.
One perfect snow angel:

A Week Ago? Really?

I can't believe I've had these on my camera for a week. It must be the Christmas rush; usually I get things updated a little more quickly! Anyway, a brief recap of Jackson's seventh birthday party:
I tried to catch a few pictures of the kids playing. Mostly my shots looked like this:
Obviously, a fun time was had by all! Here are Jackson and Taylor (whom we shared the party with; her birthday was one week from Jackson's and they are in the same class). Notice the girl to the left of the birthday chair. We could NOT get her to stay out of the picture. She was determined to be a birthday child also.
The craziness of present-opening time:
And finally, Luke got a bloody nose in the boxing ring. He got punched by a seven-year-old. Ha!

Photo Fun, part deux

I'm borrowing this post idea from Kim - join in if you can!

Here are the rules:

1) Choose the 4th folder where you store your pictures on your computer.
2) Select the 4th picture in the folder.
3) Explain the picture.
4) Tag 4 people to do the same - NO CHEATING! (cropping, editing etc.)
My babies! Oh my goodness they've grown! This was taken in January of 2004. Marilyn, Jerry's secretary and our dear friend, had just returned from a family vacation to Hawaii. The kids are sporting the outfits she brought back for them.

This was so fun - thanks for the idea, Kim!

The Birthday Boy

My baby is seven. Wow! He popped out of bed and was dressed and ready for school in record time. It may have had something to do with the fact that I told him he could open a present as soon as everyone got downstairs for breakfast. Here he is, waiting:Aubrey finally came down. He wouldn't take off his coat and backpack, but they didn't seem to hold him back any!
We had Aunt Stacia over for dinner and presents. He chose his favorite dessert: Mom's Mess-Up Strawberry Angel Food.
Today, we rented Jumpin' J's for a joint party with his classmate, Taylor, who has a birthday next week. We invited the whole class plus a few other friends. It should be fun!

I KNEW IT!!!!

I was reading a story on foxnews.com this morning as I drank my coffee, and now I am cleaning up coffee that was sprayed all over my computer monitor when I read an article on the US Army's practice of blaring music at prisoners during interrogation. Apparently, it makes them bash their heads into the wall when these songs are played over and over at loud volumes. At the top of the song list:

"I Love You, You Love Me" as sung by Barney the Dinosaur
