Miss Oklahoma

We spent the weekend in Tulsa taking in the Miss Oklahoma pageant. Jerry's niece, Talia, was competing for the second year. She did amazingly well, and was named the third-runner-up. Shelley has an excellent recap and lots more pictures on her blog . The picture above shows the top five...Talia is in the middle in the pink dress. The eventual winner was Taylor Treat, just to the right of Talia.

We all expect to go back next year!

A Praise

Luke's doctor's office called this morning and said that his MRI was normal. Praise God! We still don't know the results of the EEG, and don't expect to hear anything until next Tuesday. We'll keep you posted.

This one's for you, Gwen

I'm going to make a real effort to get some pictures up on the blog today and tomorrow. I downloaded 274 from my camera this morning, so I've got some catching up to do!

First of all, we do not know anything more about Luke's seizure. We have an appointment with a pediatric neurologist Tuesday, so we will let you know more after that. We are praying it was a freak one-time thing. He is feeling and acting 100% normal and is chafing at the restrictions we've placed on his activities. Fun for mom.

Aubrey and her gifted teacher invited me along on a geocaching field trip towards the end of school. We had a lot of fun hunting for "treasure" here in Hutch. One interesting site we found was about a quarter of a block full of Gwen's favorite thing:

I don't know what kind of birds these were, or why they have congregated here, in the city limits. There were literally thousands of birds, most of them nesting. They filled the overgrown brush and trees in this area only - they didn't seem to spread to the trees nearby.

We brought the boys and Jerry back later in the day to show them our find, and of course the boys had to chase a few. Although this picture looks like it is in the country, there is a huge grain elevator right behind where I'm standing, and a pretty major road about half a block to my left.

I'm heading outside to catch up on some yard work... more later!

Sleepover

I found this when I came downstairs after folding a load of laundry. Jackson had a sleep over last night with a friend. Do you think they stayed up late?

TaDa!

It really isn't this dark in my kitchen usually; just playing with the lighting on my camera. We are thrilled to be finished with the kitchen remodel; it turned out well! And, of course, my kitchen is always this clean ;)

When did this happen?

I have a daughter old enough to sunbathe? What?

New Camera...

My search for a new camera was successful, and I spent several hours playing with it. Here's a few of the 597 pictures:

I figured out that you can edit the pictures on the camera, thus the ultra-close shot of Jackson.
I love this picture because you can still see his baby cheeks:
Hmmm. Playing with the ISO didn't have the best results. But you can count his ribs!
Aubrey has about had enough of the pictures already!
